Difficulty - Easy

  • Bright pink wrapping paper
  • Flower patterned craft or scrapbooking paper
  • 1-inch wide orange satin ribbon
  • 1/8-inch wide bright pink satin ribbon
  • 1 orange flower

Instructions

  1. Wrap a box in pink wrapping paper.

  2. Cut a piece of the flower patterned craft paper 1 inch smaller than the length of the top of the box and the width to wrap around the entire box plus 1 inch.

  3. If the craft paper is not long enough to wrap around the entire box, tape two pieces together on the wrong side of the paper, matching the pattern, to achieve the desired length.

  6. Cut two pieces of the pink satin ribbon long enough to wrap around the entire width of the box plus 1 inch.

  7. Center the two pieces of pink ribbon on top of the orange ribbon allowing a 1/2-inch space between the two pink ribbons. Glue the overlapping ends on the bottom of the box.

  8. Glue the orange flower onto the center of the box, directly on top of the ribbon.

Gift Bag

Difficulty - Easy

Materials

  • Medium orange gift bag with stiff handles (plain gift bags are inexpensive and easy to find at your local craft or party store)
  • Bright pink craft or scrapbooking paper
  • Flower patterned craft or scrapbooking paper
  • 1-inch wide orange satin ribbon
  • 1/8-inch wide bright pink satin ribbon
  • 1 orange flower
  • Decorative coordinating tissue paper

Instructions

  1. Cut a piece of the flower patterned craft paper ¾ of the length and the full width of the front of the gift bag.

  2. Apply glue to the wrong side of the craft paper especially around the edges. Attach the paper to the front of the gift bag, lining up the edges of the paper with the bottom edge of the bag.

  3. Cut a piece of the pink craft paper 1/4 the length and the full width of the front of the gift bag.

  4. Apply glue stick to the wrong side of the craft paper especially around the edges. Attach the paper to the front of the gift bag, lining up the edges of the paper with the top edge of the bag.

  5. To cover the handles, apply a small amount of glue to a few inches of the back of the ribbon and wrap the ribbon around the handle where it meets with the inside of the bag.

  6. Continue to add glue to the ribbon, a few inches at a time, as you continue to wrap the ribbon around the handle, slightly overlapping the ribbon.

  7. Finish by cutting the ribbon and tucking the end behind the handle where it meets with the inside of the bag. Repeat this process with the other handle.

  8. Cut a piece of the orange satin ribbon the entire width of the front of the gift bag.

  9. Glue the ribbon to the front of the gift bag so it is centered over the edge of the craft paper. Small amounts of glue can be added to the cut edges of each side of the ribbon to prevent fraying.

  10. Cut a piece of the pink satin ribbon the entire width of the front of the gift bag. Glue the ribbon to the front of the gift bag so it is centered on the orange ribbon. Small amounts of glue can be added to the cut edges of each side of the ribbon to prevent fraying.

  11. Cut a 5-1/2-inch piece of pink ribbon. Fold it in half and cut the ends at an angle.

  12. Separate the tails and glue inside of the center top fold making an upside down V shape.

  13. Glue the folded edge of the ribbon tails to the front of the bag onto the top of the pink ribbon strip, centering the ribbon under the handles.

  14. Glue the orange flower onto the front of the bag, directly on top of the ribbon, centering the flower under the handles.

  15. Fill the bag with layered tissue paper to finish.
